United States Confirms Participation in the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade

11. May 2026.
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia is pleased to announce that the United States has formally confirmed its participation in the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade, following the signing of a bilateral participation agreement today in Belgrade, between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers.

The agreement, signed during Under Secretary Sarah Rogers’ official visit to Serbia, marks a significant milestone in the lead-up to the exhibition, which will be held in Belgrade from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme Play for Humanity. The United States joins 137 nations already confirmed to participate, making EXPO 2027 Belgrade one of the most broadly represented Specialized Exhibitions in history.

The signing underscores the strong and growing partnership between Serbia and the United States and reflects the shared commitment of both nations to using culture, innovation, and human connection as instruments of diplomacy and economic progress and innovation.

Dragan Šutanovac, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United States of America, remarked, “The United States has always been one of Serbia’s most important partners, and we are proud to welcome America to our stage. The formal commitment of the United States to participate in EXPO 2027 Belgrade is a powerful signal — not just to Serbia, but to the world. With 137 nations coming together in Belgrade under the theme of Play for Humanity, this exhibition will be a celebration of everything that unites us: our creativity, our resilience, and our shared belief that human ingenuity and collaboration can solve the challenges of our time. Together, we will show the world what humanity can achieve when it plays together.”

EXPO 2027 Belgrade will bring together governments, businesses, innovators, and cultural institutions from across the globe for a 93-day program of exhibitions, performances, and exchanges centered on the transformative power of play — from sport and the arts to science, technology and sustainability.
